Coco was the man with the guitar. He met Mazi in a youth camp and since they were the only dudes with an over-grown mop, it was easy to talk about bands and what not.

They were into same kind of stuff. When Mazi told about the band, Coco was interested.

It took almost six months to get together to rehearse. By this time Mazi had written several raw glam pieces.

The guitar in the pictures was stolen from Coco under shady circumstances.
What a world, what a world...







From the beginning of Desyre, it was clear that it wouldn't be just a band. There was to be a certain look and certain world surrounding Desyre.
These 'funny ideas' were usually the reason why the musicians to accompany Mazi on this glam journey were so few.

Some ideas about having the theme colors for the band had spawned in the mind of this hair metal maniac. Luckily Coco also liked the idea. Originally the options were red-white (due to Mazi's Christmas enthusiasm) or red-blue.
And, of course, red and blue it was to be!

Mazi didn't have the sewing-machine back then, so he designed some clothes and gave the prints to a dressmaker-friend.

Some photo shoots were held at home to see if something would surface. The pics were taken by BonBon (who, according to the legend, was filling in for Desyre's bassist back then).

Mazi had just bought a new Dean guitar and he used that in the pics. Even the price tag was attached yet! Some of the photos turned out to be quite usable.

In 1996 Mazi and friend had formed a Christian Metal magazine called Ristillinen. And now in 2002 the mag was brought back to life, with some new crew.
Since Mazi was still the editor, there would be a Desyre story in it.
The pics worked fine on the article and the band got some of that much needed attention. A lot was still to be done though.
There were no bassist and drummer.

Before Desyre, Coco was in a band called Ruusutarha. They had gifted bass player and Coco went on to asked if he'd be interested...
