Mazi hooked up with a talented musician named Winski and they recorded a raw demo. The songs were He'll Be There (which later appeared in Hair Metal Madness EP) and a piano ballad called My Angel.

It was the first time the boys ever tried to record something for real. They got a minidisc recorder for a week. Five days they just fooled around with it and then it was time to get some songs on the disc as well.
Drums were done completely with keyboards. Not programmed but live (which isn't that easy). Luckily Winsk also knows how to play drums.
My Angel was also done "live" with Winski on keys and Mazi vocals. The mike gave little distortion to the minidisc machine while recording, so throughout the song there are little "hsssss"-sound.

Ten copies were made and sent to a few people.

Mazi's personal copy. No other copies seen in years.

Mazi and Winski has a common band-history before Desyre. Around 1997, or something, they formed a duo called Kletus, which was almost a legend in their circles at the time.
Here's a pic of one of their gigs. They did crazy things like played a Christmas song in the middle of the summer. Mazi was always on guitar and Winski either played drums or keys. Those were the days.

There was also a semi-gothic trio named Lost Loved One (mentioned in the 1998-section) which had Mazi on guitar & vocals, Winski on drums & keys and Tuomi on guitar & rough vocals. The band did one demo titled Where The Moon Lies and died pretty much after that.
Mazi started to develope the idea behind Desyre and the rest of the guys went on their separate ways.
Winski still plays keys and piano. Tuomi became an author and has written some good stories in a dark and gloomy nature.
The musical direction (not to mention the lyrical content) of LLO was always a bit dark and blue. The Christianity was always there, though. In one youth happening the band got thrown off the stage, because of its presumed "satanic" appearance. This was major hit in the face for the band and was taken personally. Prejudice is a nasty word.

Pictured are Winski, Mazi and Tuomi. After this Mazi grew his long hair back, bought a family-package of contact lenses and moved on to a cozy hard rock style of ripped jeans and puffy hair.
