I was on 7th or 8th grade when I heard Stryper knowingly* for the first time. In God We Trust had come out couple of years earlier and I was hooked. My band-mate then showed me the Against The Law and my mind exploded. This was it! IGWT had been a bit too predictable and poppy for my taste, but ATL was a real rawker!

(* Later on I was sure that I had had Caught In The Middle-song (from ATL) in one of my cassettes way before I knew what the band was. I never found the particular cassette again and I'm still puzzled about that.)

By the time I went to 9th grade I was full blown Stryper freak. Even back then I was a maniac for band t-shirts and since there was no way I'd get an original Stryper tee, I made one myself. Then I made another... And another
... And another. Before the long I had at least five or six Stryper t-shirts. My friends began to "order" shirt designs from me. Those were the days...

My mom never approved my interests toward the rock'n roll, and we were in constant battle for that. Few of my shirts "dissappeared" every now and then and I never saw them again.

Shirt1Here is one of the selfmade shirts I still have. My guitar conveniently blocks the view. Sorry about that. Click the pic for additional photo. This was taken in January 2000.

When our then band, Lost Loved One, got new drummer, we began getting the earlier Stryper records also. His big brother had massive collection of Christian Metal and we taped what ever we could.

Soldiers Under Command became our favorite. We liked it all. The music, the lyrics, the song titles, everything.

I never quite started to play guitar properly until I heard one of the ballads from SUC. First Love instantly became my favorite song and it still rocks my world.

The clear picking and dual leads did the trick for me.
I started to learn how to play and the rest is history.

My band Desyre has now released two demos and at the moment we're making our first real record.
It's titled "Warning Of The Night" and has seven pieces.
I wonder why seven.. Hehe..

In the pic I'm throwing some blazing solo at IMF Festival.
It was extremely nice experience to play with so many quality bands. There were 8 bands and the main act (Thy Majestie) was from Italy. Very nice dudes.

There were plans for us to play a Stryper cover since my singing is now way better than it was on the demos (haha!), but we didn't have the chance rehearse properly before the gig.
