THE STORY

Desyre came to existense in 1998 with Mazi Bee. Back then he was in a band called Lost Loved One, which was melodic metal with gothic influences. When the band died, so did Mazi's desire for the over-gloomy stuff in music.

He re-aqquinted with his first love, the 80's hair metal, and from there the idea for Desyre was born.
There were some musicians who were interested in joining this band, which Mazi described as "melodic disco-metal." Of course, the music never quite came out like that, mainly because of the lack of the synths.

Anyway, as a young musician without any money, Mazi decided to renew his equipment on hire-purchase. He bought new 1998 Jackson Randy Rhoads RRX-guitar which had just came out. He also had five Desyre shirts printed professionally.

After four years of being alone, Mazi found Coco Tommy (guitar) and soon Coco found Jambo (bass). Mr. Latex came in to bash the drums. He was already in a band called Scion. As it turned out, the two band-combination didn't work for him and he left just prior to the first gig in Amphirock '03 Festival in Järvenpää, Finland. Desyre did the gig with a drum machine and gained some much needed respect from some of the other acts. Also some laughing and finger pointing were present. This, of course, only gave the band more strenght and determination.

Soon after that Jambo left and Zade Syre was found on drums. The first demo was made in 2004 called Hair Metal Madness. With no bassist Mazi did the bass tracks and his wife BonBon came in as a "fake-bassist", because Mazi deplored the idea of Desyre being a trio, which is funny...

The next year of 2005 a guy named Jace Medley was found on bass and the profound rehearsing-process began. Then came the time to record a new demo, called Out Of The Blue Into The Red.

In the beginning of 2006 Desyre did two gigs and the things slowed down again. Soon Zade left and the band fell into hibernation for over a year.

During this time Zade and Mazi joined a band called RedCat and did a demo called XXX and a handful of gigs after the band folded.

In the summer of 2007 Mazi called Coco and Jace about getting the band together again. Coco was in right away, but Jace hesitated. After a while he chose to decline the offer. But before that a new* guy was found on drums. Jayce Prime hopped along and gave a lot for the new sound of Desyre with his fierce drumming.

* Jayce was briefly in Desyre in 2003, but it didn't work out then.

The bassist problem was solved by taking Mazi's neighbor Mike Seeker to play the bass. Mike knew the band since the Hair Metal Madness demo days.
